Since I can’t seem to find a job, I’ve decided that I should at least cross some books and movies off my to-do list.
So that’s what I did. This week, I have watched six movies that were on my list. They are as follows:
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Now I know you must be thinking, “How could you go through 20 years of your life and not see the Indiana Jones Trilogy?!” The truth is I don’t know. I just never saw them and every time they were on TV, I caught them in the middle. But they were great, definitely on the list of movies to watch over and over. All six of these movies were really decent. I could only say that I wasn’t THAT impressed with Seven. It was just okay, although the twist at the end was clever.
This week I have also finished reading Danny the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl and The Alchemyst from the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series by Michael Scott.
I’ve been on a Roald Dahl kick the past few weeks. When I was in grade school, I was only required to read The BFG, which I loved. So then I decided to just read everything Roald Dahl wrote, since they’re all mostly under 200 pages and they’re obviously easy reads. Turns out Roald Dahl was REALLY prolific. So now after Danny, I’m taking a break to read other series.
I’m really enjoying The Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series. Most of the magical characters are either from history (Nicholas Flamel and Niccolo Mahiavelli) or mythology (Hekate, Morrigan, Bastet). So if you like fantasy novels with a historical fiction flavor, these may be for you.
So at least I’m getting SOMETHING done.
